Leveraging computer mediated communication for social support in educational travel

چکیده
In contrast to many tourism and ICT research, this paper exclusively deals with hedonic information systems instead of utilitarian information systems. It is believed that hedonic information systems are important providers of social support for travellers, in order to deal with culture shock. Our research focuses on international interns, a growing segment within educational travel on which little research is available. The paper consists of a literature review that integrates research in the field of tourism, ICT and intercultural contact and gives recommendations for future research.
